Tai's recent Pop Surrealism works combine his urban & surreal styles. His original drawings are created on watercolor paper or recycled chip board, using ball point pens...Tai prefers hotel pens or any standard ballpoint Bic.
The Pen drawing is then cut out with an Exacto blade and mounted onto any kind of wood surface, preferably surfaces with distinctive grain.
Tai paints the wood surface using many different mediums but is usually drawn to the use of wood stain, oil paints and/or spraypaint. The mounted drawing and painted wood surface are finished with a transparent acrylic medium and additional accent colors are added to the drawing with marker inks.
